Getting Organized for our road trip! Less than a week to go!

We made matching T-shirts for all of us.
These are for the kids.

These are for adults.

I can up with a tote system for our trip, and I really like it so far!

I even made a meal plan for our whole trip.

Hiking at Peterson Memorial Trail at Sanborn County Park. Plus a few tips on a few things to pack in you backpack

Well, today's hike really showed me how much more hiking I need to do! For me, the elevation gain was a big challenge, but I pushed through it as I was amazed that I could do it!

The Kids, though, had a great time on this short hike. Both M.J. and E.M. were literally run both up and down the trail. This was the perfect hike for the kids as it was short and in almost total shade.

After a steep climb, the best part was that there was this little creek or steam at the top, and the kids got to play in the water, and I got to take a small break while they played!

So we have found that there are a few things that we use a lot on our hiking trips:

Small hiking first aid kit!

Swiss army knife

Water bottle for each person

Baby wipes

Extra socks

Water shoes in a ziplock bag

Snacks

Extra plastic bag for trash

Camping towel to use as a blanket or to wipe feet

Hiking at Tony Look Trail to Stevens Creek Reservoir 2.5miles.

Snow trip 2017 Tahoe

This was our first trip with our two families.
There was so much snow!

27 years of friendship.

We met in Jr. High at John Muir in 1994 in San Jose, California. We both were sitting by ourselves and a bit lonely during lunch. Sophie (who can talk to anyone) struck up a conversation with me and the rest is history. At the time Michelle was living in Kenya and her family was only in the US for one year. After Michelle left we continued to write letters to each other. In our 10th grade year, Michelle came back for 6 months and we went to the same high school Willow Glen High. On the first day of school, Sophie introduced Michelle and to all her friends and said, this is Michelle, she lives in Kenya can she is joining our friend group. Instant friends, yay!! More stories later... but here we are living in San Jose both with our own families (Sophie married to Ken in 2005 have a boy 6 years and girl 8 years - Michelle married Pascal in 2006- a boy 7 years and a boy 10 years). Each of us has an autistic son, and through this hope to show awareness about traveling with autistic kids.
